Completion of short courses provided on EDGE can be be applied towards a Micro-credential (3 courses) or a credential (6 courses) from UF’s Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering (HWCOE).
The AI Micro-credential is composed of courses that are divided into two categories: Foundation Courses and Focus Areas.
Foundation courses provide the basic knowledge of AI while focus areas strengthen your knowledge of AI in a specified area.
Each package has different course options to suit your needs: 1-hour 4-hour 15-hour
Learners who complete a set of three 15-hour courses earn an Artificial Intelligence Micro-Credential from the University of Florida.
I. AI Foundation courses include:
- Ethics of AI (15 hours) &
- Fundamentals of AI OR Fundamentals of AI for STEM Learners (choose 1)
Each of the two options in #2 above is comprised of 3 coures that are 1, 4 and 15 hours long.)
II. Focus Areas include: (choose 1):
A. Agricultural & Life Sciences (from the college of IFAS CALS)
B. Applied Data Sciences (from the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences)
C. Business (from the Warrington College of Business)
D. Engineering (from the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering)
